1. Old Yeller
As perhaps one of the most highly rated dog movies, Old Yeller is a classic that stands the test of time, especially due to the fact it's a Disney film. Honestly, it’s a tough movie to watch. It all starts nicely as the small child falls in love with a stray dog and the child’s elder brother and mother weren’t originally warm to the dog while the father was away. Then there is this outbreak of rabies. Nevertheless, Old Yeller is a coming-of-age story with a love of dogs thrown into the mix, making it a truly wonderful film with full of scenes set in the countryside. Watch it, fall in love with the characters and you are sure to need a whole weekend to recover from it but the movie never is going to leave your heart.
