Progressive retinal atrophy, is a disease of the eyes, which can lead to blindness if left untreated in Rottweilers. Signs include glassiness of the eyes and dilated pupils. Rottweilers are also susceptible to Aortic stenosis, which is a condition characterized by an obstruction of blood flow in heart. Feeding Rottweilers
Rotties thrive on high quality, nutrient rich dog food, and they must be fed good sources of protein, healthy fats, fruits and vegetables, and easily digestible carbohydrates. To maintain their build and be nourished they need large sources of protein, adults should be served 22% to 26% of protein, and puppies should receive 24% to 28% protein. Healthy fats are important for their strong build; adults should be fed up to 16% fat and puppies should be fed as much as 18%.
